In this two-day Hakomi introductory workshop we will explore client defenses and barriers to psychological expansion and wellness. Using the Hakomi principles of mindfulness, non-violence, unity, mind-body holism, and organicity we will learn how to embrace and work with stuckness and defensiveness. We will experiment with somatic techniques and therapeutic interventions that can soften client defenses and support clients to get curious about what blocks them from actualizing their intentions.
This workshop is open to anyone who has an interest in working somatically with clients, including social workers, psychotherapists, psychologists, counsellors, nurses, bodyworkers. No prerequisite Hakomi training required.

Participants will leave with new techniques and perspectives to add to their clinical toolboxes that will support their own and another’s journey from stuckness to freedom.
